...Snow on Wednesday turning to a wintery mix by Thursday...



Snow is expected to develop on Wednesday morning over the eastern

Kenai Peninsula and become heavier by afternoon. Easterly winds 

through Turnagain Arm are also expected to increase on Wednesday

and bring the potential for periods of reduced visibility along

the highway due to blowing snow. Warmer air moving into the 

region will start to turn the snow to rain in Seward and Turnagain

Arm Wednesday night and continue as rain into Thursday in those

locations. 



For Turnagain Pass, precipitation is likely to remain snow 

through Thursday with periods of reduced visibility in blowing 

snow.

...Heavy Snow Possible Wednesday afternoon through Thursday...



A storm system will likely bring heavy snow to the Susitna Valley

beginning Wednesday afternoon or evening and continuing through 

Thursday. There is some uncertainty on the timing and snow

amounts. However, based on the latest forecast, the heaviest 

snowfall is likely over the northern and western Susitna valley.
