KPDT issues SPS valid 2019-11-27T17:32:00Z 289 WWUS86 KPDT 271732 SPSPDT Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Pendleton OR 932 AM PST Wed Nov 27 2019 WAZ026-027-520-521-280300- Kittitas Valley-Yakima Valley- East Slopes of the Washington Cascades-Simcoe Highlands- Including the cities of Ellensburg, Thorp, Naches, Sunnyside, Toppenish, Yakima, Appleton, Cle Elum, Cliffdell, Goldendale, and Bickleton 932 AM PST Wed Nov 27 2019 Snow and wind continues to impact much of central Washington. Strong north to northeast winds expected through the evening, especially over higher summits and passes, with gusts 35-50 mph possible. In addition, moderate snow continues on north and east facing slopes of the Washington Cascades and the Simcoe Highlands with lighter snow elsewhere. Snow amounts of 3-7+ inches possible in the higher elevations, including White Pass, Satus Pass and Rye Grass Summit. Lower elevations, including Yakima and Ellensburg, will see around an inch of snow possible. The combination of snow and wind could create areas of blowing snow and lead to hazardous travel. Conditions should slowly improve overnight into Thanksgiving. $$ 84
