...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS...



At 652 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking an area of thunderstorms 

from west of Worcester to near Newport, moving northeast at 45 mph.



Winds up to 40 mph, lightning and brief heavy downpours are possible 

with these storms.



Locations impacted include...

Boston, Worcester, Providence, Cambridge, New Bedford, Brockton,

Quincy, Fall River, Newton, Warwick, Cranston, Somerville, Pawtucket,

Framingham, Waltham, Malden, Brookline, Plymouth, Medford and

Taunton.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Lightning was occurring with these thunderstorms. Lightning can 

strike far away from the storm. Go inside a building or vehicle. 

Wait at least 30 minutes until after the storm has passed to resume 

outdoor activities.
