A line of showers and widely scattered thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall continue to move northeast through parts of southeast Missouri at 115 am, along and north of a line from Advance to Commerce Missouri to Karnak Illinois. Heavy rain, capable of producing a half inch of rainfall in an hour, will be the primary concern with any thunderstorms. However, small hail cannot be ruled out, especially over parts of Scott, Alexander, and Pulaski Counties through 230 am CST. The leading edge of the heavy rain will be near Murphysboro to Karnak Illinois line by 230 am CST. If you are driving in or near these thunderstorms, be prepared for reduced visibilities on the roadway. Travel according to the weather and slow down to avoid hydroplaning. Look for intermittent rounds of showers and thunderstorms to persist during the overnight hours. $$ Smith
