PREPARE FOR HAZARDOUS TRAVEL TONIGHT AND SUNDAY... Bands of mixed precipitation are quickly overspreading much of the forecast area from the southwest early this evening. All precipitation types are possible this evening south of highway 8 where temperatures are hovering just above the freezing mark. However as the evening progresses, temperatures will gradually fall to near or a little below freezing mark as heavier precipitation moves in and changes over to mainly snow. Road conditions will deteriorate rapidly this evening with hazardous driving conditions developing. Bursts of heavy wet snow mixed with sleet are likely overnight. Northeast winds gusting to 30 mph or higher will also create blowing and drifting snow especially toward midnight, significantly reducing visibility. In addition, sporadic power outages are possible as a result of the heavy wet snow and strong northeast winds. North of Highway 10 primarily snow is expected, mixed with sleet during the evening. The snow will become heavy with blowing and drifting becoming likely overnight into Sunday morning. Roads will become snow covered and hazardous overnight with some roads perhaps becoming impassable by Sunday morning over northern and northeast Wisconsin. Travel is not recommended overnight into Sunday morning. Stay tuned for later forecast updates. $$ ESB
