SOUTHERN UNION...EASTERN PICKENS...SOUTHWESTERN WHITE AND LUMPKIN

COUNTIES UNTIL 200 AM EST...



At 135 AM EST...a strong thunderstorm was over Tate, or over

Jasper...moving east at 80 mph.



  HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind...frequent cloud to ground lightning 

           and heavy rain.



  IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of 

           light...unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary 

           street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Dahlonega, Dawsonville, Suches, Amicalola Falls State Park, Sequoyah

Lake, Camp Merrill, Marblehill, Woods Hole Shelter, Juno, Fausett

Lake, Len Foote Hike Inn, Black Gap Shelter, Lake Tamarack, Hollis

Lathem Reservoir, Auraria, Garland, Porter Springs, Turners Corner,

Nimblewill and Blood Mountain Shelter.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear

thunder...you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists

should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to

hydroplaning.
