Snow will continue through the early morning hours as a major winter storm moves through the Great Lakes region. The storm will create difficult travel conditions across the area, so be sure to plan on needing plenty of extra time to reach your destination if you will be driving somewhere early this morning. A strong low pressure system centered near Dubuque, Iowa early this morning will track to southern Lake Michigan by mid-day. The storm will continue to bring widespread precipitation to the area through much of the day on Sunday. Precipitation will fall as snow through daybreak, with a couple exceptions. East winds bringing slightly warmer air inland from Lake Michigan could still result in a mix of rain and snow at times along the lakeshore. Meanwhile, pockets of slightly drier air aloft will rotate across portions of central Wisconsin at times. The precipitation may temporarily taper to freezing drizzle as the drier air moves through. This will most likely occur in the Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids, and Stevens Point areas. The wintry precipitation will continue well into Sunday across most of the area, and into Sunday evening in east-central Wisconsin. $$ Skowronski
