...A BAND OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL AFFECT NORTHEASTERN ERIE AND

GENESEE COUNTIES...



At 1036 AM EST, a band of lake effect snow extends across the Metro 

Buffalo region and towards Batavia. Within this band of snow, 

additional snow of a half to one inch will lower visibilities and 

create slippery spots on area roads. Milder air near Lake Erie may 

allow for a little rain to fall along the shoreline. 



This band of snow will slowly settle southward through the afternoon 

hours.



Locations impacted include...

Buffalo, Cheektowaga, West Seneca, Clarence, Lackawanna, Batavia,

Kenmore, Depew, Tonawanda, Amherst, Lancaster, Williamsville, Darien

Lakes State Park, Elma, Marilla, Le Roy, Pembroke, Akron, Erie Basin

Marina and Small Boat Harbor.



 This includes Interstate 90 between exits 56 and 48.

 

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be

prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra

time when traveling.
