...ICY ROADS POSSIBLE LATE TONIGHT AND MONDAY MORNING ACROSS

SCHOOLCRAFT AND LUCE COUNTIES...

Low level moisture in the form of drizzle will linger behind a

departing cold front beginning this afternoon. Temperatures will

begin to drop after this front moves through, dropping below

freezing soon after sunset. Any drizzle that falls will have an

opportunity to freeze to road surfaces, creating as much as a

glaze of ice on roadways, elevated surfaces such as bridges, and

sidewalks. As temperatures continue to drop and deeper moisture

filters in across the region in the late Monday morning hours,

freezing drizzle will transition to snow.

Motorists should use caution when traveling this evening and

tomorrow morning. Allow for extra time to reach your intended

destination and drive at appropriate speeds for the conditions.

Icy spots on roadways can be difficult to spot so leave extra

spacing between yourself and any other vehicles.
