Patchy freezing drizzle is occurring over portions of eastern 

Upper Michigan this afternoon. Some light accumulations of ice are

possible on untreated surfaces. Freezing drizzle is expected to 

transition to widespread snow later this afternoon and continue 

through the evening. After the current system begins to exit, 

scattered lake effect snow showers will continue overnight. By 

midnight, accumulations of about an inch are expected for most, 

but up to 3 inches are possible north of M-28. 



Motorists should use caution when traveling this afternoon and 

evening. Allow for extra time to reach your destination and drive 

at appropriate speeds for conditions. Ice on roads can be 

difficult to spot so leave extra spacing between yourself and 

other vehicles.
