A strong cold front and an upper level storm system will bring a period of cold and wet conditions for all of West Central Texas. Rain should spread into West Central Texas, from the west, this evening and continue through around noon Tuesday. Rain totals of 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch will be common for many locations. After warm conditions today, temperatures will fall into the 30s tonight; then, temperatures will remain in the 40s for Tuesday. There may be a brief period of time, beginning after midnight tonight, until around sunrise Tuesday, when temperatures may fall fast enough to allow light wintry precipitation to develop. This would be most likely north of a line from Sterling City to Ballinger to Brownwood, and would be a mixture of light rain, light snow, and sleet. At this time, it looks like most areas will see little or no accumulation and little impact. However, a few areas may see a brief period of moderate snowfall. This could be heavy enough to produce a dusting of accumulation that may create icy spots on roadways. We encourage anyone who may need to be outside on Tuesday morning to remain weather aware with the latest forecast. $$
