...Wintry Precipitation Possible Tonight into Tuesday...



A strong cold front will move across Arkansas this afternoon and

tonight. While temperatures this afternoon are in the 60s and 70s,

over the next 24 hours, readings will drop 30 to 40 degrees in 

places. Temperatures will likely remain in the 30s across much of 

central and southeastern Arkansas during the day Tuesday.



Precipitation will start out as rain tonight, and will

transition to a wintry mix in the north early Tuesday morning,

and over central and southern Arkansas during the day Tuesday into

the afternoon hours. Over the central and south, precipitation

will likely mix and change over several times before ending by

late Tuesday evening. 



Some minor sleet and snowfall accumulations are possible on grassy

areas and elevated surfaces. However, warm ground temperatures 

should limit accumulations. 



Temperatures Tuesday night into Wednesday morning will drop into 

the 20s across the entire area. Some patchy ice could develop on 

wet road surfaces, especially on bridges and overpasses, which 

could cause localized travel impacts.
