Light snow, with some embedded heavier snow bands, will continue across southeastern Kentucky through the rest of the evening before tapering off toward midnight. Elevations above 2000 feet will see the most snow accumulation, with 2 to 3 inches of total snow accumulation expected. This will create some snow covered and slick roads, especially on the highest elevations along Pine and Black mountains. For elevations at and below 2000 feet, between 1 and 2 inches of snow accumulation is possible. While most of this will occur on elevated and grassy surfaces, a quick half to one inch accumulation could occur on bridges and overpasses during any heavier snow bands, creating slick spots. Additionally, visibilities will be reduced to less than a half mile in the more moderate snow bands. Some of the more traveled roads that will be impacted include US-23 at Pound Gap, US-119 outside of Whitesburg, US 421 outside of Harlan, and KY-160 crossing Black Mountain. Use caution if traveling in these areas this evening. $$ GEOGERIAN/GREIF
